Everything Will Be Alright, dir. Staņislavs Tokalovs, 100', Latvia, 2023

Through the eyes of three generations of women in the Russian-speaking Latvian film director’s family, the film looks at the reality of the half-million-strong community of Baltic Russians in 2020. The grandmother survived World War II and came to Latvia in 1955 in search of a better life; the mother teaches at a Russian university that’s about to close; the daughter is a student at a prestigious local art school. The film seeks to understand whether, after thirty years of Latvian Independence, this family has managed to find its place in a new society.
