What is the universe made out of? Three very different characters — quantum physicist Carlo Rovelli, Buddhologist Robert Thurman and performance artist Marina Abramović — each reach a strikingly similar answer: there are no tangible entities in the universe; its essence is radiant empty space, constantly exploding into existence.
