“What Nobody Can See”, a psychological thriller by Latvian director Stanislavs Tokalovs, was showcased at Baltic Event “Works in Progess” hosted by the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn earlier in November. It was announced that the premiere of “What Nobody Can See” is planned for the second half of 2016.
“What Nobody Can See” is a story of an unusual relationship between Vicola, a man who has fallen into a coma after experimenting with artificial intelligence, and his care taker Elisa. The leads are played by Katerina Shpitsa and Evgeniy Tkachuk. “The film is a fusion of sci-fi and drama, but the most important thing is the theme of trust: who can we trust and is trust the most important thing in a relationship,” said producer Guntis Trekteris of Ego Media.
The shooting proces has just been finished, and the producers are currently looking for financing, coproducers, sales agent and festivals, claimed Trekteris at the BE “Works in Progress”. The film is a coproduction of Ego Media (Latvia) and Kinoport Film OÜ (Estonia) with a planned budget of 360,000 EUR.
Stanislavs Tokalovs is a Latvian film producer, now moving into directing and screenwriting. His short film “A Little Longer” was recognized the Best Short Feature at the Latvian National Film Festival “Lielais Kristaps”. He is now in postproduction with the feature length documentary “Tal” – a story about the chess champion Mikhail Tal.
