The new film venue Film Box LT situated at the Vilnius Airport is expanding its range of films and countries. October is dedicated to Latvian films: a total of 14 films made by Latvian filmmakers will be presented. An exclusive feature of both programmes is the selection of animation films. They make up the entirety of the programme for kids and families and were included in the programme for adults.
In order to offer the audiences a more intriguing repertoire, the film hall Film Box LT will screen programmes from different countries each month. The new tradition will be launched by the Latvian National Film Centre, which has prepared two programmes of short films in cooperation with the creators of the Film Box LT – the Lithuanian Film Centre and Vilnius Airport.
The programmes of Latvian films will add to the current repertoire consisting of three programmes of Lithuanian works. From now on, both Lithuanian and Latvian films will be available to the viewers. The entire list of films can be found here or watched at the airport.
The Latvian films will be screened for the entire month. More news will come in November – Film Box LT will present the best shorts from across the Europe. The programme of films on youth will be selected by the Eurochannel. In December, Estonian shorts will be added to the repertoire of the Film Box LT.
The Film Box LT project was launched at the Vilnius Airport this summer and is the first of its kind the entire Northern Europe. It is an innovative project of collaboration between art and industry. The idea of the project is to unite two different spaces, an airport and a film theatre, so travellers can enjoy exclusive experiences and pass time watching free films while waiting for the plane.
