On March 19, the documentary film festival CPH:DOX started, the industry section will start on March 24 and for the first time specially organized delegations of film producers from the Baltic States, including six professionals from Latvia, will take part.

The CPH:DOX festival (this year from March 19 to 30) is one of the most important documentary film festivals in Europe, this year the opening film of the festival and important international issues were discussed after the screening by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and former NATO Secretary General, currently Norwegian Minister of Finance Jens Stoltenberg.

The industry section of  the festival CPH: INDUSTRY (operating since 2007) is created with a conscious focus on creative collaboration between cinematography, journalism, science, new technologies and changes in society, it is a platform that supports innovative and risk-ready documentary cinema in various formats – feature films, series, new media.

CPH: INDUSTRY annually welcomes delegations of producers from all over the world, offering them a special industry event plan, specially designed programs and networking events. The programme of each delegation (March 24 - 26) is adapted to the specific objectives of its participants, which provides producers with contacts with the necessary professionals and institutions to promote the creation of new projects. Producers included in delegations participate in industry discussions, where they meet with film financiers, broadcasters, sales agents, art curators, galleries, recognized international producers and representatives of influence bodies.

During the forum, there is also a special event Meet the Delegations – Presentations & Networking Roundtables dedicated to international co-productions. The organisers of the delegations offer an insight into the co-production opportunities of their countries, while the participants of the delegations talk in the form of round tables about their documentary projects, which are being developed in search of co-production partners and other forms of cooperation.

This year's Latvian delegation includes five producers – Antra Gaile (Air Productions), Dārta Vijgrieze (Mistrus Media), Madara Melberga (Fa Filma), Marta Šleiere (Sunday Rebel Films), Uldis Cekulis (VFS Films); the delegation is led by documentary film researcher and head of the documentary film forum Baltic Sea Docs Zane Balčus, representative of the National Film Centre.
