On February 4 the awards ceremony of Latvian National Film Awards 'Lielais Kristaps' was held.
The award for Best Feature went to Elza Gauja’s feature film A Postcard from Rome / Pastkarte no Romas – a touching love story of two senior postal workers, played by well-known Latvian actors Jānis Jarāns and Indra Burkovska.
Film director Staņislavs Tokalovs’ work earned five awards. Soviet Jeans / Padomju džinsi that he co-directed with Juris Kursietis received three awards, including Best TV Series, Best Scriptwriter and Best Actor in a Leading Role - received by Kārlis Arnolds Avots for the second time in a row (last year he was awarded for the main role at Viesturs Kairišs’ coming-of age-drama January / Janvāris).
Two awards went to Tokalovs’ documentary film Everything Will Be Alright / Viss būs labi – Best Documentary and Best Editing (Stefan Stabenow).
