Animation film "Flow" by Gibts Zilbalodis has been nominated for two British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) - "Animated Film", and "Children's and Family Film".
The BAFTA nominees for all 25 categories were announced on Wednesday January 15, and the internationally successful Latvian animated film "Flow" is among the nominees.
In the Animated Film category, Flow will be up against Inside Out 2, Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and The Wild Robot. This year, for the first time, BAFTA organizers have introduced a category for 'Children's and Family Film', for which Flow is nominated alongside Kensuke's Kingdom, Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and The Wild Robot.

The BAFTA ceremony will take place on February 16 in London and is the British film industry's most important award, voted for by 8,100 film professionals from the UK and around the world.
The film has already received the European Film Academy Award as Europe's best animated film of the year, becomes the first Latvian film to win the "Golden Globes" award as the “Best Motion Picture Animated”, as well a number of awards at festivals and from various US film critics' associations. In Latvian cinemas film has been now screened for 18 weeks and gathered more than 174 000 admissions.
Film is financially supported by the National Film Centre of Latvia, the State Culture Capital Foundation, Eurimages, the French National Film Centre, television Arte and Canal+, as well as various regional funds and support programmes in France and Belgium. The film was created as a co-production of three countries - Dream Well Studio (Latvia), Sacrebleu Productions (France) and Take Five (Belgium).
