The Mutiny (Dumpis), dir. Andrejs Ēķis, 7x45’, Latvia, 2024

Riga, 1975. Having lost faith in the Soviet authorities and military structure yet driven by communist ideals, Valery Sablin organises a mutiny on the frigate Storozhevoy. By standing up against corruption, impunity and the humiliation of ordinary people, he starts a riot that turns into something much bigger than he originally intended. Based on true events, this story of humanity and justice at the turn of a totalitarian regime follows the human struggle against invincible force.
