Locarno IFF, in its 72st instalment this August, is one of the most important European film events. Its programme for industry professionals attracts a number of influential cinema people: producers, sales agents, financiers. Marta Romanova-Jekabson, Kristians Alhimionoks and Elina Litvinova are participating at “Match Me!”.
Match Me! 2019 (August 9th to 11th)
Match Me! provides an informal networking platform for new and upcoming production companies with distinct focus and strong visions. For this year’s 5th edition, thanks to a partnership with Cinema do Brasil, Estonian Film institute, Istituto Luce Cinecittà – Filmitalia, Latvian Film Centre, the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE), Polish Film Institute, ICA Portugal, ICAA Spain, Singapore Film Commission, three upcoming producers from each of these countries will attend the Locarno Pro days and introduce their companies’ profile and works to potential co-producers, funds or sales companies through a tailor-made matchmaking service and a series of professional lunches with industry key players.
Latvia is represented by two young producers.

FILM STUDIO DEVINI
Film Studio DEVIŅI was established in 1991 in Riga, Latvia and up to this day is an active player in the Latvian and European film industry. Today the company focuses on the co-production of feature films and documentaries. Company has collaborated with production companies in France, Iceland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Poland, USA, Russia, Ukraine, a. o. Newest feature Bille (2018) is traveling festivals.

PLATFORMA FILMA
Platforma Filma is a leading film production company in Latvia and Baltic States. It has produced three of the five highest grossing local films in Latvia. Most recently Platforma Filma produced an English language epic film The Pagan King, which was sold in 20 territories around the World. Furthermore, Platforma has it’s own film remake franchise Swingers that was produced in Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine and this November will be released in Norway and Poland.

Elina Litvinova
THREE BROTHERS
Created by the writer-director Martti Helde and producer Elina Litvinova to make international films that in their form express brave authors’ handwriting. They’re currently developing Triin Ruumet’s Dark Paradise and in release is Martti Helde’s Scandinavian Silence. A co-production with ARP Selection (France) and Media International (Belgium), it premiered at Shanghai IFF and Karlovy Vary IFF.
